dailyfreeman: restaurant week freemans new york | Hudson Valley Restaurant Week 2011, March 14 to 27, is the perfect time to enjoy world-class dining cheaply at the same time exploring the beautiful Hudson River Valley.


This culinary adventure to run a full 14 days, including two weekends, so tempting to those looking for a yummy holiday experience. Participating restaurants will offer three-course prix-fixe dinner at $ 28 and a three-course lunch at $ 20.
Participating restaurants are located in seven counties (Westchester, Rockland, Putnam, Orange, Dutchess, Ulster and Columbia) in the north along the Hudson River from New York City to Albany in the south.

Now in its fifth year, Hudson Valley Restaurant Sunday showed why the Hudson Valley has become one of the nation's most talked about dining destination, according to Janet Crawshaw, Hudson Valley Restaurant Sunday organizer and publisher of Valley Table magazine.
"Hudson Valley to enjoy the vibrant food scene," said Crawshaw. "This area is a nationally recognized center for food and agriculture and home to the leading cooking schools in the country, people celebrated cheese makers, world-class wineries and distilleries, and some of the best chefs in America."
A trip to the area can easily become a gastronomic adventure. To stimulate the appetite, visitors to the Valley during the week the restaurant can enjoy relaxing in the elegant spa, antiques in the cities of the ancient river, sampling wine and beer at the local vineyards and breweries, cheese and food tasting local production other regional agricultural markets, and capture the first term in the sap of maple-sugaring operation.

Because of the strong base of agriculture Valley, use of locally produced ingredients on the menu Sunday Restaurant part of the appeal of the show. "The chef went all out to use materials produced in the Hudson Valley, from venison, duck and pork cheese legacy for the people," said Crawshaw.
2010 event attracted more than 200,000 visitors, who discover a new culinary experience in over 140 restaurants. This year, 160 participating restaurants.
